Clinical Interests

  • Dr. Jain's clinical interests include pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery for pancreatic cancer, chronic pancreatitis, hepatocellular cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, and cancer metastases to the liver. His surgical oncology practice also includes the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers such as stomach and small bowel cancer, as well as soft tissue sarcoma and melanoma.

Education Interests

  • Dr. Jain is active in the education of medical students and surgical residents. He has been awarded the faculty teaching award three consecutive years at SUNY Upstate. 

Research Interests

  • Tumor Immunology and Oncology. Dr. Jain is interested in the development of novel immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer. Immunotherapies are designed to activate sustained immune responses against cancer, especially colorectal and other cancers that have spread to the liver. His reseach has been funded by grants from the American Cancer Society as well as the Veterans Administration. He is currently serving a second term on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Surgical Research.
