International Student Admissions

The MD/PhD Program welcomes applications from qualified international students who seek graduate-level education in biomedical sciences. Applications are accepted from foreign citizens who have completed at least 90 semester hours of course work in the United States at an accredited institution of higher education. It is strongly recommended that international students residing abroad contact the MD/PhD Program 12 months prior to admission for application material and further information regarding admissions procedures. All correspondence should be sent by airmail.

Students residing abroad must present clear evidence of proficiency in the English language by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Test of Spoken English (TSE) which are administered several times a year at testing centers around the world. According to the United States immigration and naturalization policies, accepted international students who are not awarded a stipend and/or tuition waiver must demonstrate adequate financial support before a visa can be issued. The student will automatically receive information from the Office of Student Affairs on reporting their ability to demonstrate adequate financial support. Official transcripts, with English translations for foreign transcripts must be submitted from all colleges and universities attended.
