ProQuest Direct Previews on Library Homepage
The Health Sciences Library is currently participating in a preview of ProQuest Direct (PQD), University Microfilms International's (UMI's) on-line periodical service. This includes UMI's premier full text* databases, including ABI Inform, Periodicals Abstracts Research II, and Newspaper Abstracts Full Text.
ProQuest Direct is a web-based service that allows easy searching and access to over 1,400 -full text+* journal titles in a variety of disciplines that are not included in our more traditional biomedical databases.
Periodicals Abstracts Research II - offers students, researchers, and staff comprehensive coverage of general reference, business, health, social sciences, humanities, education, and general science periodicals.

ABI/INFORM Global - provides in-depth coverage of business conditions, trends, corporate strategies and tactics, management techniques, competitive and product information, and a wide variety of other topics.

Newspaper Abstracts Complete - Easy access to some of the most respected newspapers in the U.S. from 1985 forward. Includes full text from the Boston Globe, New York Times, Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times among others.

* Full Text means that you can read or print the entire article from the journal or newspaper on your PC or Mac from your web browser.
Access to the ProQuest Direct for HSC personnel is available either by logging on to the Library+s Homepage and clicking on the -ProQuest Direct+ or by using the URL (http://www.umi.com/pqdauto). No username or password is required. Use of PQD is restricted to students, faculty and staff of the Upstate Medical University, therefore it is available only from the HSC edu (139.127.xxx.xxx) domain. If you attempt to connect from a computer outside of our domain, i.e.(a commercial vendor) you will be rejected. You can contract IMT+s HELP desk to secure off campus access to our domain number (464-4115).
