Library Adds 5 Databases and 45 Full Text
Journals to its Ovid Web Gateway

The Health Sciences Library is pleased to announce that it is adding five new databases to its Ovid Web interface, which is available through the Library Homepage.

The new databases include:

AIDSLINE (1980-) is a collection of bibliographic citations focusing on research, clinical aspects, and health policy issues related to AIDS. This database includes articles from over 3,000 journals published worldwide, as well as government reports, letters, technical reports, meeting abstracts and papers.

BioethicsLine (1973-) database includes more than 47,000 records of English language materials on Bioethics. Documents are selected from the disciplines of medicine, nursing, biology, philosophy, religion, law, and the behavioral sciences.

CancerLit (1983-) is an important source of information pertaining to all aspects of cancer therapy, including experimental and clinical cancer therapy; chemical, viral and other cancer causing agents; mechanisms of carcinogenesis; biochemistry, immunology and physiology of cancer; and mutogen and growth factor studies.

HealthSTAR (1975-) contains citations to the published literature on health services, technology, administration, and research. It focuses on both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of health care delivery.

CINAHL (1982-)The Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health database provides authoritative coverage of the literature related to nursing and allied health. Virtually all English-language publications are indexed along with the publications of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing. Primary journals are indexed from the allied health fields and selected journals are also indexed in the areas of consumer health, biomedicine, and health sciences librarianship. In total, more than 500 journals are regularly indexed; online abstracts are available for more than 150 of these titles.

Ovid Full Text, which already includes the full text of articles from 15 core medical journals, will be expanded by 45 titles bringing the grand total to 60 journals. Articles can be selected and printed from your browser or emailed or saved directly to your hard drive for later printing.

Ovid Full Text currently includes four collections: the Ovid Core Biomedical

Collection (CBC), the Ovid Biomedical Collections II (BC2), III (BC3), and IV (BC4).

Every word of the text is searchable, including references and graphics captions. Within the Full Text display, hypertext features allow users to display an outline of the document and move immediately to a selected section, to display complete references cited within the text of a document, and to link directly to MEDLINE and other full text documents.
