Library Adds OCLC ® Databases
(including PsycINFO) to its Home Page
OCLC FirstSearch ® gives HSC students, staff, and faculty access to a variety of databases that can be searched to find books, articles, computer software, internet resources, videos, and other materials related to any topic of their choosing. Included in this new service is full access to PsycINFO, which is Psychological Abstracts from 1887 to the present. This service is comprised of 14 searchable databases including:

Materials cataloged by OCLC member libraries including over 32 million records of books, computer files, video's etc. You can do subject searches for books on any topic of your choosing. |
| PsycInfo |
Journal articles, chapters, books, dissertations and reports on psychology and related fields. |
PapersFirst &
Proceedings First |
Two separate databases that contain citations of papers presented at worldwide meetings, conferences, expositions, workshops, congresses, and symposia. Covers October, 1993 to the present, with records added monthly. |
| GPO |
Monthly Catalog containing more than 450,000 records for ducments printed by the U.S. government. It includes Congressional reports, hearings, debates; judiciary materials and documents issued by the executive departments. |
| WilsonSelect |
Full text access to over 400 periodicals from the H.W. Wilson Indexes including General Science Abstracts, Social Science Abstracts, Humanities Abstracts, and Wilson Business Abstracts. It covers most titles from 1994 to present. |
| NetFirst |
An authoritative database of internet resources, which is a practical, easy to use toold for internet exploration and discovery. NetFirst is continuously updated adn records are verified to make sure of their availability. |

Contents 1st |
Two separate databases that give the index and complete table to contents of nearly 12,500 journals. Covers from 1990 to the present with new records added daily. It allows for searching for individuals journal issues. |
Access to FirstSerach® for HSC personnel is available by logging on to the Librarys Homepage and clicking on the FirstSearch® Link. No username or password is required. Use of this service is restricted to students, faculty and staff of the Upstate Medical University, therefore it is available only from the HSCedu (139.127.xxx. xxx) domain. If you attempt to connect from a computer outside of our domain, i.e. a commercial vendor, you will be rejected.
