The following degree programs are available via Distance Learning.

Master's Degree Programs For North Country Area Nurses

The College of Nursing offers two Nurse Practitioner Master’s programs at a location convenient to Watertown area nurses: Family Psychiatric Mental Health, and Family Health. New students admitted for Fall 2015 will follow a full-time program of study and will complete the program in two years.

Nurses enrolled in the master’s degree program can receive certification in the following specialties:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FPMHNP)

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

The part-time DNP program at Upstate is designed for the master's prepared Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). It is a clinical doctorate designed for those in clinical practice and in areas that support clinical practice, such as organizational management, leadership and policy.

The program is 40 semester hours and has a hybrid design.  The degree can be completed in two and a half years of part-time study with five semesters of 6-7 credits per semester and two summer semesters of 3 credits each.
