Blackboard Message Box Fix

Some users have a problem with the message box displaying correctly in Internet Explorer. This is caused by an incorrectly installed ActiveX control. The fix is simple, and takes only a couple minutes. The issue can occur at any area where you are asked to enter message content, particularly in the discussion boards and exams.

  • Once you are in Blackboard, if you are not at the Welcome page, click the "Blackboard@Upstate Home" tab in the top-left.
