Immune Health Services (IHS), formerly the DAC, provides outpatient medical care and inpatient consultation services for HIV infected people from the 15-county Central New York area. IHS is staffed by Infectious Disease physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and licensed social workers. Patient care is provided through a medical case management model with the nurse practitioner/physician assistant as care manager. We provide each patient with continuity of care through the same care manager, physician and social worker for all of your outpatient care.
IHS accepts all insurances accepted through University Hospital including: Medicaid, Medicare, Family Health Plus, ADAP Plus and most commercial insurances. Managed Care Medicaid and HMO insurances may require prior approval or referral. If your insurance requires prior approval or referral from your primary care physician you are required to obtain that prior to your first appointment with us. Upstate Medical University provides a wide range of medical services including vision, dental, gynecology, oncology, dermatology, pulmonary, primary care, endocrine, gastrointestinal, cardiology and orthopedics.
Immune Health Services provides PrExposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), on site individual and group mental health services, mental health care management services, HIV & hepatitis C treatment services, substance disorder assessment, education and referral, linkage, retention and treatment adherence services, High Resolution Anoscopy (HRA), Infrared Coagulation and cervical colposcopy.
