Future Plans

Construction of the Institute for Cardiovascular Research will occur in two phases.

The first, completed in February 2003, consists of the $1.5 million renovation of the 6th floor of SUNY Upstate's Weiskotten Hall. This space houses the research programs of eight faculty investigators and the ICR's computer core.

The second phase, a $1.9 million renovation of the 5th floor of Weiskotten Hall, will double the size of the institute to more than 20,000 square feet. This work is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2005. The additional space will be used to expand current NIH-funded research programs, to recruit senior investigators and to establish advanced core facilities.
