Manager Training Program Checklist

The purpose of this five-section program is to provide managers with information on practices, processes and tools for managing employees of SUNY Upstate Medical University. Sessions are also open to current managers.

Who Should Review the Checklist?

  • New managers hired at SUNY Upstate within the last four (4) years.
  • SUNY Upstate employees promoted to manager within the last four (4) years.

Program Guidelines

  • All new managers will attend the educational topics indicated as Core*.
  • New managers will review the checklist and do a self-assessment to determine specific areas of focus.
  • New managers will discuss the self-assessment with his/her manager and determine priorities for sessions.
  • Recommendation for completing training — 6 months after official start date.
