Dave began his career with SUNY Upstate in 1996 as a Hospital Patient Services Clerk. In 2001 Dave was promoted to a Maintenance Assistant in the Physical Plant-Maintenance Department. In this current capacity, Dave is responsible for supervising the labor crew and scheduling the daily activities in response to department requests to move Upstate property such as furniture, computers and records. When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Dave responded that he enjoys working with a wonderful staff and assisting departments in their moving needs.
Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children along with hunting and fishing. In addition, he participates in missions coordinated through his church to assist in the rebuilding of homes in Phoenix, Louisiana. Phoenix, a small town of 300 people 25 miles South of New Orleans, was among one of the communities hardest hit when Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region in August 2005. During Dave’s last mission in June he was responsible for preparing and cooking the daily meals for over 100 volunteers. When asked what he wants people to know about him, he replied, “I’m a helpful and caring person…and a good story teller.”
Dave, we appreciate all you do for Upstate and applaud your passion in assisting the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
