College Student Volunteers
College student volunteer positions are available at Upstate University Hospital at both the Downtown Campus and Community Campus. Thank you for your interest.
University Hospital, Downtown Campus
College student applications for the Downtown Campus are closed for Summer 2015. Applications for Fall 2015 will open August 14, 2015.
Each semester we accept, on average, 60 college students to volunteer at University Hospital Downtown Campus. Volunteering is a great way to learn more about our community and to feel good knowing you made a difference in someone's life.
University Hospital, Community Campus
College students may apply to the Community Campus by using the adult application.
The Community Campus has volunteer positions available in the GEM Care—the senior emergency department—and in the Emergency Department. There is shuttle service between the Downtown and Community campuses 7 days a week from 6:45 am to 8:20 pm. See shuttle schedule.
Our college students volunteer a minimum of 50 hours per semester to complete the program. Depending on your skills and time constraints and department needs, we can place you in a variety of areas – from inpatient care to office technology.
We require all applicants to complete a background check once they have completed their interview.
We look forward to hearing from you and having you as part of our team!
