Upstate Medical University Spiritual Life Council
The Spiritual Life Council is composed of SUNY Upstate Medical University students, faculty, administrators, and the University Hospital Chaplains as well as clergy and concerned lay people from the Syracuse community.
The Council meets monthly to support programs which:
- Identify and meet the spiritual needs of SUNY Upstate Medical University.
- Serve as a connecting link to the larger religious community to find ways it can help SUNY Upstate Medical University.
- Represent the spiritual needs of patients and their families to faculty, students, and staff in the College of Medicine and University Hospital.
- Make the religious community of Syracuse more aware of the activities of the faculty, staff, and students of SUNY Upstate Medical University.

A Second Set of Hands, offering practical and spiritual help for parents with hospitalized children—written by parents of hospitalized children—has been published by the Pediatric Spiritual Care Advisory Council of SUNY Upstate Medical University and University Hospital with the help of a grant from the Wilbert Foundation.
