TV, Phone & Internet Service

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 9:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Television and telephone service is available by calling 4-6565 from your bedside phone once you have been admitted.There is a single daily rate ($9) and a one-time activation fee ($5.50) for both services. We offer both services together in order to offer the best rate possible. Separate service is not available. In-house and local telephone calls may be placed at no charge.

If a friend or family member wants to pay for service for you, they must wait until you are admitted to activate service with a credit card—a great gift! Once you are admitted to your assigned bed, they may call 315 464-6565 during business hours.

If you are admitted outside of the call center hours listed above, you can turn on temporary complimentary service by dialing 4-6565 (and then "0") from your bedside phone. A Call Center Representative will call back when the call center opens to arrange for payment.

Headphones: Headphones are available at no cost for use when watching television between the hours of 10 pm and 8 am in order to maintain a quiet sleeping environment. Just ask the nursing staff for a set.

Transfer: If you are transferred to another room, your service will automatically transfer when you do. Wait 15-20 minutes after you arrive in the new room to be certain your service has been transferred. Ignore the service activation message on the TV and simply change the channel to enjoy the programs!

Discharge: Your television and telephone service is automatically terminated when you are discharged. At anytime you can call 4-6565 to activate or cancel the services using the automated prompts.

Closed Captioning: Closed captioning is available at no additional charge on all patient TVs. Please refer to the TV Guide in the patient room for instructions.

Notify your caregiver if your TV or telephone is not working properly.

Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital: Thanks to a generous donation from the Upstate Advocates, telephone and television are free for children admitted to the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital. Long distance calls are the responsibility of the family.

Cell Phones

Cell phones should be limited to non-patient care areas to decrease potential interference with critical equipment. Please note that specific patient care areas may restrict the use of cell phones. If using a cell phone, please do so in a respectful manner so as not to be disruptive (low volume, quiet or disabled ring-tones, etc.).

Internet Access

Public Wireless Internet access is available for patients and visitors to Upstate University Hospital and can be used with personal laptop and other Wi-Fi devices. For more information, ask at the Information Center in the Hospital lobby or call 4-5030.
