Healthy Parent Series of CNY Support and Information Group

Support and information group with a monthly in-person meeting with the goal to provide education, training and support to victims and survivors of nonviolent domestic abuse, including post separation.

Co-led by a licensed clinical social worker, the goal is to help increase knowledge of coping mechanisms, skills and strategies to support safe and healthy parents and the well-being of their children. Each quarter, there will be an open session featuring a special speaker before the regular support group meeting. Adults only. Parents of all ages welcome.

Time: 5:30 pm

Date: second Wednesday of each month

  • April 10: Vagal Nerve Regulation and concepts of Polyvagal theory with Rebecca Carey, PT, DPT, E-RYT, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • May 8: Tools for children: Emotion identification, coping skills & Safety planning with Kathryn Hagen, PsyD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences
  • June 12: Benefits of Self Care Practices with Cariann Coward, PsyD, Child & Adolescent Psych IOP

Men to Men Prostate Cancer Support and Information Group

Upstate Men to Men Prostate Cancer Support and Information Group helps men cope with prostate cancer by offering community-based education and peer support for patients and their family members.

Time: Meetings are held at 5pm the last Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted.

Stroke Support Group

The Stroke Support Group offers education and support to patients, caregivers, family and friends affected by stroke.

Time: the third Thursday of the month (unless it falls on a holiday) 5-7 pm

Trauma Survivors Network (TSN)

A community of patients and survivors looking to connect with one another and rebuild their lives after a serious injury. The underlying goal of our resources and programs is to ensure the survivors of trauma have a stable recovery and to connect those who share similar stories. 

TSN offers free virtual Support Groups, as well as "NextSteps," a free online course to help survivors take their next steps in recovery.

Time: Support groups are held the last Wednesday of the month 3:00pm - 4:30pm

Brain Injury Support Group

The Brain Injury Support Group provides advocacy and support to families of persons living with brain injury.

Time: 1st Thursday of the Month, 5-6:30 p.m.

Pink Champions Breast Cancer Support Group

The Pink Champions Support Group focuses on providing support, advocacy, education and preventative resources to breast cancer survivors, families, and caregivers.

Time: 2nd Wednesday of each month, 5:30-7 p.m.
