In recognition, Upstate pediatrician Ann Botash and Martha Ryan, a founder of the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Site in Syracuse, discuss their respective roles in treating children and assisting families as they deal with the trauma of child abuse. Then Lalainia Secreti, an emergency physician at University Hospital and member of the Air National Guard, describes her experiences during her recent stint in Iraq caring for casualties on both the military and civilian sides.
