INFANT MORTALITY Definition: Infant mortality refers to the numbers of babies who die before they are one year old.

NEURAL TUBE DEFECTS Definition: Neural tube defects (NTDs) are serious birth defects with symptoms that range from mild to severe impairment caused by incomplete development of the brain, spinal cord and/or their protective coverings. Spina bifida is the most common NTD, others include anencephaly and encephaloceles.
