Services Provided for Employees and Volunteers

Services include:

  • Pre-employment health assessment and clearance*
    • physical examination when required
    • tuberculin skin testing
    • determination of immunity to rubeola, rubella, varicella and tetanus/diphtheria
    • administration of required vaccines.
  • Annual Health Assessment*
    • determination of changes in health status over the preceding year
    • tuberculin skin testing
    • health and wellness screening.
  • Immunization update for Tetanus/Diphtheria
  • Hepatitis B Vaccine — for staff with occupational exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Follow-up for work-related exposure to communicable disease in collaboration with Infection Control
  • Latex allergy screening and recommendations
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Mask fit-testing for the Respiratory Protection Program
  • Influenza Vaccine

Services Not Provided include

  • primary care services for employees or volunteers. It is expected that staff will be evaluated by their primary provider. If the employee does not have their own physician, health office staff will assist by providing recommendations for care.
  • Employees requiring treatment for work related injuries are directed to seek care with their primary provider or in the Emergency Department depending on the urgency.

Needle-stick or Body Fluid Exposure

In the event of exposure to blood or body fluids you should IMMEDIATELY:

  • Wash the effected area with soap and water
  • Notify Infection Control by calling 4-5258 or contacting the Operator.
  • Complete an Injury Report

You will be referred to Employee Health if Infection Control determines that follow-up testing is necessary.
