Collaborative, Interdisciplinary Approach

2 researchers in lab

Kaylen Lott, a PhD student in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, works with two advisors.

Her first advisor, James Listman, MD, is a doctor at SUNY Upstate's University Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics. Her second is Gino Cingolani, PhD, a researcher in SUNY Upstate's Biochemistry department and a leading expert in X-ray crystallography.

Lott is studying the regulation of how proteins enter the nucleus during the inflammatory response. Shown on the computer are cells in which a fluorescently tagged protein have entered the nuclei.
