Target Population
 The Central New York ADAC serves 15 counties with an approximate land area consisting of 16,000 square miles. Cities within this area include Syracuse, Binghamton, Watertown, and Utica.

According to the New York State Department of Health estimates, the population of New York State in 2025 is projected to number 19.8 million people—and increase of 4.8% since 2015. The projections show slowing of the growth of 85 and older age group, rapid growth of other older age cohorts impacted by the influx of baby boomers and limited growth of the population under 60 years of age during the period from 2015 to 2025.
The impact of dementia in New York State is directly related to the demographics of our aging population and will result in dramatic increases in service needs by the year 2010.
Prevalance is increasing dramatically; there are now approximately 300,000 prevalent cases of dementia in New york state. By the year 2010, close to 500,000 New york state residents will have dementia.
These individuals are likely to require the services of the CNY ADAC. Included among those individuals are many of the 71,745 elderly in the 15 county Central New York region that live alone (30% of the total 65+ population) and the 23,086 persons (10% of the total population) that are below the poverty level.
