The face of the pediatric HIV patient is changing.  Currently, most patients seen in clinic are perinatally infected (born with HIV).  However, teenaged girls are now the fastest growing newly diagnosed pediatric group.  There is also an increasing number of newly HIV infected males.  The Pediatric Designated AIDS Center is dedicated to meeting the changing needs of our patient population.

The Pediatric Designated AIDS Center provides care for children and adolescents from 17 counties of Central New York State.  The Center cares for patients who are newly diagnosed, those transferring care from another facility and those patients needing treatment due to high risk HIV exposure.  We also work with families of patients providing HIV testing and notification services as needed.

Map below locates the 17 counties served by the Pediatric Designated AIDS Center, which are: St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Lweis, Oswego, Oneida, Onondaga, Madison, Herkimer, Cayuga, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tompkins, Chemunga, Tioga, Broome, and Delaware.
