 Reach Out and Read ProgramMarsha Kernan The Reach Out and Read Program emphasizes to parents the importance of reading to thier children from birth. This national program focuses on reading at the Pediatric Well Child appointemtrns. Physicians are trained on all aspects of early literacy and development that they pass along to the parents, volunteer readers who provide a positive role model for parents while they wait in the waiting room. Appropriate books are give to the chilren when they come to the clinic for a Well child exam. Would you like to get involved? Become a volunteer reader. New and gently used books are always welcome!
