St. Joseph's Family Practice Residency Program
301 Prospect Avenue
Syracuse, NY 13203
"Students are assigned to the St Joseph's Hospital
Family Practice Residency outpatient offices. Each student will see patients
under the supervision of a third year resident. Each student will generally
work with 5-6 third year residents over the course of the four weeks. Students
will in most cases see patients independently and then present their findings
to the senior resident. The student and their senior resident will also, at
times, present cases to the faculty preceptor on site. Case mix is varied and
includes the broad spectrum of family medicine from obstetrics and pediatrics
to geriatrics. Patients will be seen for acute and chronic problems. Students
are invited to participate in all residency educational endeavors--Grand Rounds,
lectures, CPCs and seminars. Students MAY, at their discretion, participate
in in-patient rounds. Students MAY, at their discretion, participate in obstetrical
deliveries performed by those senior residents they are working with."
