New York Communities and Preceptors—Community of Hamilton
Hamilton is located 45 miles east of Syracuse and just south of Route 20 in an area of rolling hills and farms. Colgate University is located in the Village of Hamilton, which is very near the communities of Madison and Bouckville, well-known for their antique shops. There is a major antique show and sale each year which attracts dealers from all over the northeast.

Along with Canton/Potsdam, Hamilton inaugurated the RMED educational network in 1989. Preceptors at this location are Drs. Robert Delorme and Mark Ohl, both of whom are board certified in family practice. This was one of the first two sites to host a student on the RMED program in 1989. |
Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton is a 49 bed facility with Med/Surg, ICU, Pediatric and OB/GYN services. A long-term care facility is attached to the hospital. Because of its nearness to Syracuse several specialists from Syracuse are on the medical staff. |
