Seminars and conferences, inpatient and outpatient contacts, and night call.

Elective Description
|
Elective covers alternative types of primary care settings, including community health centers, health maintenance organizations, special arrangements with other medical schools, armed forces, medical facility rotations, and experiences in foreign countries by special arrangement. Students will understand the nature and frequency of health care problems and the resources for their management in special health care settings; will increase understanding of the roles of various health care providers; and will improve their knowledge and clinical skills related to the provision of primary care. Individual arrangements will be necessary for selection of site, and provision of transportation and housing . Students will meet with the site coordinator at the beginning of the elective to negotiate specific educational objectives.
