Our Financial Literacy Program

SUNY Smart Track Logo

Let us help you understand the financial investment in your education so that you can make informed decisions and take control of your financial future.

What we offer here at SUNY Upstate Medical University:

1:1 Financial Counseling

Students can schedule one-on-one Exit Counseling sessions with a Financial Aid counselor. During this meeting, we will review your specific situation as it pertains to your personal and educational finances. We will also provide you with the information that you need to better understand your responsibilities as a borrower to help you determine a repayment strategy that's right for you.

Topics Discussed: Federal student loan debt, federal loan grace periods, budgeting tips for the future, loan repayment options, and student loan forgiveness opportunities. These sessions are approximately 30-60 minutes in length.
