Information for Eye Care Professionals

The Center for Vision Care, located in Syracuse in Central New York, welcomes retina and uveitis referrals from all eye care professionals.

Dr. Andrews has a long and proud history of working closely with other eye care professionals. At all times, except when Dr. Andrews is involved in a surgery, he is available for immediate consultation.

Dr. Andrews makes time in his schedule every day to handle add-ons and is happy to see same-day referrals. He will call with the results of the exam and will keep in close contact with phone calls and letters.

Dr. Andrews works to make the people you refer to him comfortable. He talks directly with them at all times to make sure they understand the situation and feel confident in the course of action. He invites questions and always answers them to their satisfaction.

Dr. Andrews respects each of his referring doctors. The Center for Retina Care does not have any distractions such as an optical shop or a corrective laser center. He provides only the specialized retina care for which people were sent. He collaborates with referring doctors if other types of treatments are needed and works as part of the team assemble by the primary eye care provider. And he attempts to return people to their primary eye care provider as soon as reasonably possible.

Dr. Andrews invites all his referring eye care professions to observe him performing procedures on their patient with the patient's approval.

Center for Retina Care Educational Initiatives

The Center for Retina Care will use this web site to try to provide eye care professionals with the latest important retina information. Some of this information may include critiques of important retina articles.

Unfortunately, too often, interpretation of medical papers comes from people with a vested interest in them. This site will give one retina surgeon's point of view. It will not provide every perspective but will instead add an independent voice to the interpretation of retina articles.

Dr. Andrews feels it is the duty of academic centers to provide information and to teach as well as provide advanced services.
Look back periodically for new articles.
