The Center for Retina Care, a section of the Center for Vision Care, specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the retina, vitreous, and uvea. We serve Syracuse, Central New York, and people from around the United States and around the world.

The Center prides itself on personal care. As our mission statement emphasizes, we firmly believe in treating everyone with respect, taking time to talk, and involving people in their care to achieve the best possible outcome.

The Center draws on the considerable resources of SUNY Upstate Medical University. Like other parts of the University, we hope to not only provide the best quality care but to also help set the standard for that care in the future.

We have a very close relationship with the Center for Vision Research and are currently doing studies into the nature of diabetic eye disease. We strive to stay at the leading edge of retina research and treatment.

The Center for Retina Care provides comprehensive medical, laser, and surgical care of the retina. Dr. Anthony Andrews, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon, treats retina and vitreous disorders as well as treating inflammation in the eye (uveitis or iritis).

While the Center handles cases from premature babies to the elderly, we have a special interest in diabetes eye care and macular degeneration.

Facilities

The Center for Retina Care is located within the Center for Vision Care in Suite 340 at 550 Harrison Street in Syracuse, New York.

Our facilities include digital fluorescein angiography, multiple wavelength retina laser, and photodynamic therapy laser.

We have a multifocal electroretinography machine, one of the few in the country, which, with our other related ERG equipment, gives us the most comprehensive picture of the electrical activity of the eye.
