Craniomaxillofacial Fellowship Program
University Affiliation
- This fellowship is offered through the Department of Otolaryngology, State University of New York Upstate Medical University.
Licensing Requirement
- New York State License is required.
Appointment Level
- The fellow will receive an academic appointment at the Instructor level.
Operating Privileges
- The fellow will have privileges to operate independently and under faculty supervision.
Operating Experience
- The craniomaxillofacial surgery experience is extensive including congenital craniofacial and cleft lip and palate surgery, orthgnathic surgery, facial trauma, skull base surgery, and post ablative reconstructive surgery.
Research
- Extensive laboratory facilities are available. A basic science or clinical project leading to a completed paper is a requirement for finishing the fellowship.
Teaching Responsibilities
- The fellow will supervise residents in cases of appropriate level, staff a weekly facial plastic and reconstructive surgery clinic and participate actively in facial plastic and reconstructive
surgery conferences.
Case Load
- It is anticipated that the fellow will participate in 200-300 cases in a year. The level of participation will depend on the complexity of the case and the fellow's abilities.
Call Responsibilities
- The fellow will be placed in the rotating home call schedule

- Health: Provided.
- Stipend: $12,000 is provided with the possibility of enhancement throughout the year.
