Living with Diabetes

An 8-hour comprehensive education program which covers all management topics important for diabetes care. These three sessions are offered to Joslin patients as well as to individuals in the community. A physician referral is required.

To enroll in Living with Diabetes classes, this referral form should be completed and faxed to 315 464-2510.

Carbohydrate Counting

A 2-hour class aimed at helping the person with diabetes learn more about the role of carbohydrates and how it relates to their blood sugar control.

WAY Less Program: Weight Achievement for You with Lifestyle Skills and Support

This 12 session weight management program is available to Joslin patients. Key elements include meal planning, physical activity/exercise, medication adjustments, lifestyle change strategies, blood glucose monitoring and group education and activities to assist overweight patients who are motivated to lose weight.

Insulin Pump Orientation

A 3-hour class which provides information and expectations of insulin pump therapy. This class is available to Joslin adult and pediatric patients.

Insulin Pump Initiation

A set of classes designed to help the patient start insulin pump therapy. These classes are available only to Joslin patients who are initiating insulin pump therapy.
