Dr. Avarello

Jahn Avarello, MD

Medical School: Ross University

Pediatric Residency: Schneider Childrens Hospital

Research:

Sepsis related adrenal insufficiency
Currently, I am in the intermediate stages of a animal model study. I am using a septic pig model and studying cytokines, DHEAS, 17-OHP and free cortisol over 48 hours. This study is focused on finding predictive laboratory patterns to identify relative adrenal insufficiency as it relates to sepsis.

Research:

I am presently part of a EMS interest group working on mulitple areas of pre-hopital care research. In addition, I am individually invloved in a study looking at the use of analgesics in the pre-hospital setting in pediatric patients.

Hobbies:

Travel, home remodeling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
