Upstate at Home - house call

Upstate At Home

Upstate At Home

A physician carrying a small black leather doctor’s bag into a home is one of the oldest and most classic images of quality American healthcare.

Upstate At Home is a new practice which brings back this traditional style of medicine, the house call. With today's demand for more convenient, personal care and increased equipment portability, the time for the physician house call has come again Physicians and Nurse Practitioners will come to you, talk with you, examine you, and treat you in the home. We treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries.

If you or your family member are having a life-threatening emergency, call 911!

If you don’t know if a house call is right for you, you should call your physician or call Upstate At Home’s answering service.  An experienced nurse will ask you a few questions, make sure a house call is right for you, and send a provider to you.

Why A House Call?

Your Primary Care Physician is always the best person to see you, but a visit is not always possible.

  • No appointments are available the day that you are sick.
  • The doctor’s office is closed for the evening, weekend, or holiday.
  • You are from out of town and don’t know where to go.
  • You might not have a primary care physician.

Your house call visit has advantages over traveling to an urgent care clinic or emergency department.

  • No crowded waiting rooms with other sick people.
  • No driving in bad weather.
  • No packing up the entire family in the car when one is sick.
  • You would rather just stay home when you don’t feel well.
