Tuition Polilcy
The State of New York pays the tuition for all students who are affiliated with a NYS certified Fire Department or Ambulance Corp. Upon registration for a class the student will receive a form which must be filled out, signed by the students’ affiliation head and returned to the Instructor Coordinator by the second night of class.
Students who have not turned in their affiliation form or are without an affiliation are considered “self-pay” and are responsible to pay the full, non-refundable tuition listed above to Upstate Emergency Medicine, Inc. by the third class. Failure to pay the full amount due will prohibit the student from attending future classes. Fee does not include required textbook which is purchased separately from the instructor.
An EMT-Intermediate provides a higher level of advanced care and builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the EMT-Basic course.
The course emphasizes:
- Rapid evaluation and intervention of the trauma patient
- Advanced procedures for the medical patient such as the use of advanced airway management, intravenous infusions and defibrillation.
