SUNY Upstate educates 435 new MDs each year through its residency programs. Aneela Darbar MD, is chief resident in Neurosurgery and one of fewer than 60 female neurosurgeons in the U.S. She is five years into her seven-year residency. She won first place for a presentation on Gamma Knife radiosurgery techniques, which will be published in the Journal of Neurosurgery.

PTs. Kelly Meyers and Chad Pens Upstate offers two physical therapy doctoral degree students: one for those entering the profession and those who are licensed PTs. Kelly Meyers and Chad Pens both earned their doctorates while continuing to work in their practices.
