Goals and Objectives
To Recruit and Retain Faculty and Staff
The Faculty and Staff Association for Diversity (FSAD) has two main objectives: to recruit and to retain minority faculty and staff. To meet the challenge of providing optimum service to a multicultural society, FSAD provides three services
Program Services
Candidate Identification
Members of the FSAD will suggest ways to locate qualified, diverse candidates for vacancies through their own contacts and professional networks.
Interview and Recruitment Assistance
During the recruitment process, members are available to provide their unique perspective on the Upstate and the Syracuse communities. They are available to meet individually with candidates or may participate in the actual search process.
Mentorship for Retention
Once a diversity candidate is recruited, he or she will be paired with a mentor. This mentorship is designed to assist the new employee in navigating the institution, thereby encouraging a deeper attachment to Upstate Medical University and assuring that the new employee will find Upstate a rewarding place to work long term.
