Why I became interested in vision research:
I expanded my interest in the vertebrate nervous system from the peripheral nervous system and neuromuscular junction into the retina, and obtained an R01 from the NEI in 1998. I have continued working on the retina in collaboration with William Brunken, PhD since then.
Current position:
Senior Research ScientistCurrent research focus:
Retinal development and synapse formation in the mammalian retina.
Future plans:
Building cross-investigator research programs.
