The NIH's Fogarty International
Center (FIC) is sponsoring a one-year clinical research training experience
for graduate level U.S. students in the health professions. This is an opportunity
for highly motivated individuals to experience mentored research training
at top-ranked NIH-funded research centers in a diverse group of countries,
such as Bangladesh, Botswana, Brazil, China, Haiti, India, Kenya, Mali, Peru,
South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, and Zambia.
The one-year Fellowships will begin with an intensive orientation program
on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD in July 2005. This will be followed by
approximately 10+ months of intense research training at the foreign site.
The program is managed by the Association of American Medical Colleges
and the Association of Schools of Public Health. The Ellison Medical Foundation
is providing support to the FIC for this program.
Applications for the Fogarty-Ellison awards will be available August 1,
2004 and are due by January 7, 2005. To learn
