LGBTSTR8 Co-Operative
The LGBTSTR8 Co-Operative is composed of students, faculty and community members who are dedicated to providing a safe, friendly, supportive, quality environment for lesbian, gay and bisexual individuals at SUNY Upstate and University Hospital. We will accomplish this mission by supporting the inclusion of LGBT health issues in medical school curricula and improving the quality of patient care through physician sensitivity. The Co-Operative will participate in quality patient care initiatives to assure sensitivity to LGBT people and their health care issues. The Co-Operative will break down misconceptions about LGBT people through education and the minimization of barriers. We provide students with the opportunities and tools they need to succeed in advocating for LGBT patients and welcome all members, regardless of sexual orientation, to join us.
