Procedures for Visiting Students

Students currently enrolled in a LCME accredited Medical School:

  • Visiting Student Application PDF document text
  • Certificate of Health
  • To view possible courses: Course Selection Book
  • Submit Application to the SUNY Upstate Medical University's Registrar's Office
  • The earliest date applications are accepted April 1
  • VSAS - Visiting Student Application Service
    • SUNY Upstate Medical University will be using VSAS, the Visiting Student Application Service, to receive visiting student applications for the 2009-2010 academic year. Applications may be submitted through VSAS starting on May 1, 2009. To apply to our school, please complete and send us a VSAS application for your preferred electives and dates. For more information on VSAS, please visit www.aamc.org/vsas or contact VSAS at vsas@aamc.org or 202-478-9878. For more information on electives at SUNY Upstate Medical University please contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@upstate.edu or 315-464-8822.
Note: We only accept visiting student applications from students enrolled in LCME accredited Medical Schools in the United States and Canada.
