ETH works collaboratively with staff from all departments and the regional offices to identify, design, and carry out projects addressing the ethics of health care, public health, and biomedical science. This encompasses projects that originate in the department and those on which it provides advice and assistance to activities located in other clusters and in regional offices. If your application is of interest to ETH, you will receive a proposal for an internship within eight to ten weeks. Program Costs: All expenses before and after the beginning of their internship, such as travel from home country and return there, must be paid by the candidate whether from personal or institutional sources (such as scholarship program for international work or study). Program Eligibility: A current graduate or professional student in public health, economics, bioethics, law, philosophy, social science or in a field relevant to the area in which you plan to work such as medicine, nursing etc. Typically interns have already completed at least four years of full-time studies at university or equivalent institution towards the completion of their first degree. Minimum age is 20. Program Description: The ETH department coordinates a very active internship programme in WHO Headquarters and welcomes applications from graduate students from a wide range of disciplines as well as researchers, national civil servants and other professionals. ETH internships provide an excellent opportunity to participate in the work of the Organization and to expand the knowledge and understanding of WHO's goals, policies and activities. Depending on background and qualifications, the interns are assigned to one of the four areas of work in the department, which are ethics and health; globalization, trade and health; health and human rights; and health law.
