Research Interests

  • Statistical genetics, clinical trials, nonparametric statistics, bootstrap methods, survival analysis.

The bootstrap method is an appealing nonparametric technique commonly employed in many aspects of modern statistics. Under certain situations, exact analytic expressions such as the bootstrap mean and variance of L-estimates can be obtained, thus eliminating the error due to Monte Carlo resampling. Dr. Wang aims to extend the exact bootstrap approach to more complex situations, including kernel based quantile and density estimation, L-moment estimation and other aspects given truncated and censored data.

Dr. Wang's research interests also include the clinical data analysis, genomics and proteomic data analysis related to diabetes, substance abuse and psychiatric diseases.
