Candida
General information
Candidiasis is the most common fungal infection of the female genital tract, and can act as opportunistic pathogens in immunocomprimised patients, causing infections in many body sites. It is frequently associated with diabetes, pregnancy, oral contraceptives and antibacterial and immunosuppressant medications. The segmented pseudohyphaeand tiny spores commonly intertwine with groups of squamous epithelial cells. A mild acute inflammatory reaction is often present.
