MSII Schedule

MLC II : Pathophysiologic Mechanisms of Disease (Winter/Spring 2013)

Class meets on Mondays & Fridays from 11:00-12:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11:00-11:50 a.m. in 1159 Weiskotten unless otherwise indicated.

Note: "Being a Physician" component sessions taught jointly with Practice of Medicine-2 are shown in GREEN on the schedule.

Quiz Schedule:
First quiz on a given case
Assessment of general understanding of the facts of the case
Students are permitted to have a handwritten episodic time line & problem list and a copy of their concept map; no other material is allowed
Follow-up quiz on a given case
Assessment of deeper, mechanistic understanding of the events of the case
Students are permitted to have the published case report with any personal handwritten notes in the margins or on the back, their handwritten episodic time line & problem list and a copy of their concept map; no other material is allowed
Quiz on differential diagnosis chapter ("Being a Physician")
Assessment of general understanding of the problem-oriented approach to a given symptom
Students are permitted to have the published chapter with any personal handwritten notes in the margins or on the back;
no other material is allowed
Quiz on evidence-based medicine reading ("Being a Physician")
Assessment of understanding of evidence-based medicine principles as applied to a given clinical problem
Students are permitted to have the published research paper with any personal handwritten notes in the margins or on the back;
no other material is allowed
