Financial Aid
While most nursing students receive tuition
assistance from their employers,
the College of Nursing also participates
in numerous student financial aid programs
coordinated by the Financial Aid Office. The
major sources of financial aid for students are
the state and federal governments. SUNY
Upstate also offers financial aid programs
sponsored by the State University of New York,
and scholarships provided by individual donors
and private organizations. Programs and
eligibility guidelines are described in the
Financial Aid Handbook
. Applications for
financial aid should be submitted no later than
February 1. For detailed information on
eligibility, application procedures and other
financial aid policies, or to request the Financial

National Health Service Corps Scholarship
Due by March 25th!
Program Provides
Payment of tuition and fees, books, supplies, and equipment for up to four years of education and a monthly stipend.
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen and attending an accredited NP program.
Obligations
Must serve one year in health professional shortage area for each year of support.

Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Project
Due by March 1st!
Program Provides
Experience providing health promotion/disease prevention to medically underserved rural and urban communities. Weekly stipends of $300 plus travel reimbursement.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate level NP student
Obligations Six to eight week commitment.

Nursing Education Loan Repayment
Programs Provides The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is inviting applications to repay nursing education loans of NPs who serve in certain health profession shortage facilities. Funds available up to $50,000.
Obligations A two year commitment in underserved area.
