RN with a Master's Degree
Doctor of Nursing Practice
The part-time Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at Upstate Medical University College of Nursing is specifically for the post-master's Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). The DNP degree prepares nurse experts to the highest level of advanced practice, expanding the APRN role in leadership, health policy and advocacy, interprofessional practice and information technology.
The program is part-time and delivered online with limited campus visits.
Post Master's Certificate Program
Post Master's certificate program allows the master's-prepared nurse to qualify in a new field or seek certification in a new specialty area without having to earn another master's degree. The College offers four post master's tracks:
- Nurse Practitioner
- Family Nurse Practitioner
- Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Nurse Educator
Students with a Master's degree in Nursing in a non-clinical field will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
