Welcome!

The Partners in Education Nurse Practitioner Preceptor website creates a close working relationship between community nurse practitioner preceptors and SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Nursing.

The purpose of our integrative preceptor website is to:

  1. Improve and foster a positive relationship with community preceptors;
  2. Make available preceptor educational programs and resources, and;
  3. Provide ‘rewards’ as a thank you for a valued service to our College and the community at large.

Being a Preceptor means sharing your nurse practitioner knowledge and expertise.Margie Wade, FNP preceptor, with her daughter Shannon

The Partners in Education program makes available a mechanism to cooperatively prepare our students to succeed in a challenging and ever-changing health care environment.

"Faculty at the College of Nursing identify the preceptor role as providing professional growth, development and achievement for our future nurse practitioners. Preceptors contribute to our students' clinical learning and are an essential part of their education. The faculty appreciates the dedicated nurse practitioners willing to share their knowledge and expertise. We continue to seek community and regional nurse practitioners who will enhance and build upon our students' educational experiences.
