Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (2 Faculty Positions)

The College of Nursing at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, invites applicants for two Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FPMHNP) positions. Responsibilities will include:

  • Teach FPMHNP specialty and/or related courses each semester
  • Advise College of Nursing students
  • Devote at least 20% of time to clinical practice as a FPMHNP
  • Participate in scholarly activities
  • Participate in appropriate professional, college, and university organizations

Successful candidates will have expertise as a FPMHNP and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, and others.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Earned master’s degree in nursing from an institution of higher education accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency
  • Currently certified as a FPMHNP
  • Three to five years of recent work experience as a FPMHNP
  • Working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • For tenure track: Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field; teaching experience
  • For clinical track: Teaching experience preferred

Established in 1986, the College is an integral part of SUNY Upstate Medical University, which also includes the Colleges of Medicine, Health Professions, and Graduate Studies and a tertiary care University Hospital.  The CCNE accredited College offers the following programs: Bachelor’s of Science Degree, Master’s of Science Degree, and Post Master’s Certificates.
