Director, College of Nursing Outreach Program

The College of Nursing at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, invites applicants for a Director of Outreach Program position.  

Responsibilities will include:

• Provide vision to the development of the Outreach Program
• Serve on the Admissions Committee
• Monitor outreach students’ progress and ensure that they meet graduation requirements
• Communicate with the Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Nursing Programs
• Teach each semester, sometimes at off-site locations
• Advise College of Nursing students
• Participate in scholarly activities
• Participate in appropriate professional, college, and university organizations

Successful candidates will have expertise as a Registered Nurse; possess the ability to provide leadership, authority and organization for directing the College of Nursing Outreach Program, and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, and others.

Qualifications: 

• Eligible for New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Earned graduate degree in nursing from an institution of higher education accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency
• Working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
• For tenure track: Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field; teaching experience.
• For clinical track: Teaching experience preferred; national certification.

Established in 1986, the College is an integral part of SUNY Upstate Medical University, which also includes the Colleges of Medicine, Health Professions, and Graduate Studies and a tertiary care University Hospital. The CCNE accredited College offers the following programs: upper division Bachelor’s of Science Degree, Master’s of Science Degree, and Post Master’s Certificates.
