Introduction from Christine Aris: Hello my name is Chris Aris. I am a neonatal nurse practitioner. I became aware of the influence of practices that are used in the NICU on the incidence of sudden infant death syndrome. I also realized that a significant nursing knowledge deficit exists among many neonatal nurses about SIDS. I recruited some colleagues, two neonatal nurse practitioners and a clinical nurse specialist to help develop an educational program to bring an important message to a wide audience of neonatal nurses which we believe can save lives.
