This program is suitable for all pediatric nurses and nurse practitioners in any practice specialty, and other care providers interested in the care of children and adolescents.

Purpose

This program is planned to help participants assess and manage selected healthcare problems, which may occur among the pediatric population and their families. A second purpose is to update participants on the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) “Future of Nursing Report” so that they may be informed and active in advancing the IOM recommendations.

Objectives

  1. Discuss current trends in at least three clinical problems commonly seen in children.
  2. Discuss the effects of maternal substance abuse on infants and society.
  3. Identify strategies you can implement to impact the future of professional nursing and nursing’s role in a newly reformed health care system.

The post master's program is a unique option for nurses with master's degrees who want to expand their practice. It's also the most economical option around, both in terms of time and money.
